Nicky Harvey

Nicky manages the day-to-day operations of the facility and oversees the administration team. She leads the development, collection and provision of activity metrics for NIHR reporting and acts as project liaison for major research infrastructure capital programmes.

With the aim to put patients and participants first, Nicky manages the administrative and reception staff, ensuring that support is available and meets high standard for volunteers, staff and researchers. This covers everything from staff development, managing staff records, ordering supplies, and the dedicated patient catering service.

She is responsible for operational activities in Southampton’s clinical research facilities including maintenance, working with the CRF Manager on new projects and ensuring that our equipment and facilities comply with regulatory safety requirements.

Nicky joined the Clinical Research Facility as an Operations Manager in March 2019 having worked for the NHS for over 20 years as a Business Manager for a Mental Health Trust and then a Contracts Manager at a Hospital trust in East Sussex.  Nicky originally gained a BA (Hons) in Law and Social Studies and more recently achieved an MBA in General Management with a Diploma in Strategic Leadership in 2017, before relocating to the Hampshire area.  Nicky's previous skills, education and experience are an invaluable asset to the varied Operations Manager role.
